Do you need A Brush with Kindness?
- Are you living in challenging circumstances, creating issues that are beyond what you can handle on your own?
- Are you struggling to keep your home in livable condition?
- Have you had to choose between paying for food, medication, taxes, and basic utilities?
- Are you facing city code violations or homeowner insurance cancellation due to the condition of your home?
A Brush with Kindness is a program of Habitat for Humanity of Butte County that helps low-income homeowners by offering exterior home improvements. Volunteer teams work to improve the condition of homes by painting, landscaping, and performing minor exterior repairs at minimal cost. ABWK helps homeowners who would be unable to complete home repairs on their own reclaim their homes with pride and dignity. Able-bodied homeowners are encouraged to work alongside the volunteers in a cooperative effort. This program is for homeowners earning between 30% and 60% of the area median income.
A Brush with Kindness ensures that families live in safe and well-maintained homes. The program is designed to revitalize the appearance of the neighborhood, encourage connections within the community, and most importantly help preserve affordable housing. ABWK also allows Habitat for Humanity of Butte County make a larger impact in our community!

Our focus in 2013 will be on a specific target area in Chico. To find out if you live in the target area, or if you have more questions, email us at: info@buttehabitat.org.
