Mulberry Street, 2020
In response to the Camp Fire, Habitat is building more houses in the surrounding communities until the burn scar area is ready for rebuilding. Historically we have built two homes a year. Given our housing shortage, this is not enough. We are expediting our construction schedule to build 6 new homes in Chico, increasing our building by 300%.
The Mulberry Project incorporates 3 Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) to accommodate more families. Five of the six homes built are for families who survived the Camp Fire. This project will house 8 children, 9 adults, including 3 single moms and one person with a disability.
Habitat is currently working on all 6 homes simultaneously, with the goal of having the homes completed by December 2020.
Thank you to our sponsors!
Paradise, 2021
Habitat for Humanity of Butte County has purchased 8 lots in Paradise. We are taking the preliminary steps to prepare these sites for construction.
We anticipate starting construction on two of these lots in Spring of 2021!!
