 Carter Remembrance & Door-Signing Ceremony

WHAT: Habitat for Humanity of Butte County joins the world in mourning the death of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter. With peace and grace, President and Mrs. Carter served as Habitat for Humanity’s most famous volunteers over the last 35 years as they helped build affordable homes worldwide with Habitat.

We will be eternally grateful for their time with Habitat and the tangible impact that they had on transforming lives. They played a major role in raising awareness throughout the world about the importance of helping families achieve the dream of homeownership.

As part of a nationwide Habitat memorial, we are honoring President Carter by hosting a Door-Signing Ceremony. The ceremony symbolizes Carter’s commitment to opening doors of opportunity for many families over the years. We plan to host this ceremony in alignment with President Carter’s funeral at the capital.

WHERE: Meet at Habitat’s Administration office – 220 Meyers St., Chico, CA

WHO: This event is open to any and all community members who would like to honor former U.S. President Carter and the many opportunity doors opened for families over the years.
